Tent? Check. Water? Check. The easiest and tastiest camping meals? Check. Over here at TETON Sports, you know we are camping enthusiasts. One thing we’ve tried to master is the best (and easiest) camping meals for our next adventure; and we think we’ve nailed it with this list. From prepped meals to cook on the stove, to packaged meals for on-the-go, we’ve rounded up some of our favorite recipes and packaged meals for you to try on your next camping trip. Plus, some extra tips and tricks to help with preparing and packing these tasty meals.

Breakfast Meals

Packaged: RX A.M. Oats

As simple as it gets: just add hot water, wait, and—voilà—a tasty breakfast you can spoon right out of the cardboard cup. These things are packed with all the goods you need for a day of adventuring: calories, protein, and fiber (and, like their motto states, “no B.S.”).

Prepped: Bagel Sandwich

One of our go-to breakfasts is the bagel sandwich. Pack a bagel and whatever toppings you like: cream cheese, avocado, tomato, deli meat, or egg and cheese, and whip it up over your camp stove or fire pit. Pro-tip for this recipe: pre-slice any vegetables so you can easily pile them onto your toasted bagel and you don’t have to use silverware to prep everything at camp. You can also pre-cook your eggs and easily heat them up.

Lunch Meals

Packaged: AlpineAire Dehydrated Meals

If you’re backpacking, or simply don’t want to deal with coolers while camping, dehydrated meals are your new best friend. AlpineAire makes some amazing meals that are sure to satisfy your hunger while out on a long hike or after a morning kayak session. And, all you need is some hot water! Pair this with a piece of fruit and you’ll be ready for the rest of the day.

Prepped: Wraps

The possibilities are endless with wraps. The easiest way to pack these is to simply put all the ingredients you want in one Tupperware, mixed together, so you can simply spoon it out onto a tortilla. So, mix together some pre-cooked chicken, tuna, tempeh, or whatever protein you’d like (or some pre-chopped veggies!), your favorite sauces, spinach, lettuce, or whatever other veggies you’d like, and store that in an air-tight container. Then, when your belly is grumbling and ready for lunch, grab your tortillas, spoon out some of your delicious wrap concoction, and your belly will thank you for the easy and fast food!

Dinner Meals

Packaged: Top Ramen

One of the classic and easiest meals, the famous Top Ramen. Now, we do like to add some veggies to this meal to make it calorie-dense, but in terms of ease, this one is always a winner. Prep some green onions, soy sauce, broccoli, or whatever veggies you like in a Tupperware. When you’re ready for dinner, boil some water, add your noodles and your flavor packet, and add your prepped veggies and soy sauce to the pot. In a few minutes, you’ll have a simmering pot of tasty noodles and veggies as you sit around the fire.

Prepped:

Veggie Roast

When you’re camping, aluminum foil is your best friend (lots of things are your best friend, as you can see from this post). You can cook so many things by wrapping it in some foil, throwing on some butter, and putting it on the campfire grill. Which is exactly what we do with this favorite meal. Before you head out on your camping trip, prep your veggies by slicing them all up (we love to add small slices of potato to give us some more calories, and they taste like potato chips!) adding oil or butter, salt and pepper, and dumping it into a Tupperware. When dinner time rolls around and your fire is going, lay down some foil, spread out your veggie mix, wrap it up, and let it cook over the fire for 10-15 minutes, or until you see steam rising out of the foil and it’s sizzling. Serve it up and enjoy! We love adding some bread to this meal and lightly toasting it over the fire.
