Jacket? Check. Snacks? Check. Dogs? Check. Water bottle? Don’t need it. With TETON’s Oasis 1100 Hydration Backpack, you can ditch the chunky water bottle. With a quick fill-up of the 2-liter bladder, we were set for our hike.

With the dogs buckled in the back, we made our way to the trail. I threw the backpack on and clipped both the chest and hip straps for extra support. Perfect. The sun played peek-a-boo through the trees and our boots kicked up pine needles along the trail.

The backpack itself is lightweight and comfortable, and the perfect size for a daypack. The push-pull valve opened and closed easily, and the cushioned bite wasn’t tough on the jaw. I sipped some water as we kept on trekking. Up through the pine trees, we emerged from the forest onto a beautiful open ridge: A playground up above the trees. We explored the open grassy field, filled with early wildflowers. The backpack’s ability to have a custom fit from the adjustable straps made me almost forget I had it on. The padding kept my back cool and my shoulders comfortable.

We made our way up to the top and watched the sky darken as clouds rolled in. I pulled out some snacks from one of the smaller zippered pockets and some treats for the dogs. The backpack’s pockets are perfect for quick access to things like your keys, wallet, and snacks. The bigger compartment held my jacket and my camera, so it has great space for whatever you will need on your adventure.

As the clouds covered up the sky in a soft blanket, we made our way back down the mountain. Being able to easily sip water without losing a stride made the hike go smoothly; I didn’t have to stop, take my pack off, and find my water bottle. I was able to simply bite and sip!

TETON’s Oasis backpack seems to hit all of the happy mediums for a hydration pack. It holds enough water for long days out in the wilderness but isn’t too much to make it heavy. The multiple pockets can hold a lot of items while the backpack stays compact and easy-to-carry. If you’re looking for a hydration pack that can also serve as a daypack, this is the one for you. You really can’t go wrong with this pack.
