Bag is not the best for car camping, Insulation has low compress-ability, so the bag is HUGE to transport. Also, it’s nearly impossible to fit into compression sack. Unfortunately I waited too long to test fit, so I cannot return. Trying to figure a use for bag. It takes up way too much space in wife’s land cruiser or my 4Runner. Definitely not going on any camping trips unless we tow expo trailer.

Have had this bag for 4 years now and love it every time. It’s so warm every time we use it. Very soft and still looks like the day we purchased it. Quality is great, very well made. Love the Velcro pieces at the top sides to keep things together. The mummy style hood is great for giving your pillow a place to sit or pull it over for more warmth. Honestly the best sleeping bag I’ve owned, sometimes it’s too warm on cold nights and I end up putting one foot out the side to regulate my body heat. But we also haven’t tried it in 0 degree weather. I think the lowest we’ve used this bag in was 28 degree weather. But worked like a charm.

I have had this bag for a few years now and absolutely love it. I’ve used it many times and it is still like brand new, so the construction is awesome! It is warm and toasty. The mummy style let’s you cinch the top to keep your head warm on cold nights, and it zips from both top and bottom to let you regulate temp. The material inside of the bag is really soft and comfortable. It is pretty big in size, but I can pack it, and all my camping gear into my small Impreza with no problems. As far as getting it into the stuff sack, i’ve had no problems and I am a woman. I’ve done it by myself plenty of times. This is an awesome bag and one of the best purchases I’ve made for car camping. My boyfriend loves it too.

We have had our Mammoth Bag for years now and it is still amazing! Warm, comfortable, and lots of room! It does take up a lot of storage space in the car and in the garage but it is worth it!

Ok, so yes… this thing is huge! It was a bit longer than our queen air mattress but width was perfect. My husband insisted on purchasing a double due to the fact I always freeze, granted I love my Teton mummy, too. However, this was the first time I have slept comfortably in autumn/winter camping. Seriously nice to share the space with my better half but the warmth the bag kept in was impressive. Our favorite feature is the adjustable top. It helps keep the pillows from running away and really gets you snuggled in there. Great product!

I have only tested this in the house… Getting this back in the stuff sack is possible but you better watch the video posted on the Teton sports website. I felt like I was wrestling a grizzly bear and losing the first time I put this back in the sack. My wife and I were able to do it but it took forever and we were exhausted when it was over. I WATCHED THE VIDEO after leaving a message on the phone with Teton to complain and then pulled it back out of the stuff sack and tried again. I was able to do it by myself in a little over a minute.
Ok. So we got that out of the way. The bag appears to be of pretty good quality with no noticeable defects other than a few loose threads on seams that didn’t get cut off. They don’t appear like they will be of any issue. I didn’t give it a 5 star because I haven’t tried it camping yet I will come back and let you know what I think after using it out in the cold. Overall I think it will be a great bag especially considering I picked it up for $129 at Sportsman’s Warehouse. It is about the same size as the two individual bags I had when I put them together and my wife and I fit in it very comfortably with lots of room to spare. I hope we are not too warm in it..

This is the cushiest, coziest sleeping bag I have ever known. We’ve used it when it’s somewhat warm and when it was freezing and were equally comfy. The flannel inside is so soft.

  • Donny

Its huge and its hard to pack but wow is it warm and comfortable. Possible a bigger compression sack with more stapes is the storage answer.

Shortly after having a baby, my husband wanted to go camping. I wasn’t sure about taking a brand-new baby camping, but we took the Mammoth Sleeping Bag and were super happy. All 3 of us fit comfortably inside and were very warm. This sleeping bag is very spacious and comfortable. We didn’t have any issues with the zipper all night. It made feeding the baby super easy!

  • Julie

Wow, this bag is MAMMOTH! I have been using this sleeping bag for years, starting when I had babies and toddlers; and you know what that means…that little person ends up in your sleeping bag when camping. No matter how warm and cozy their pack ‘n play should be, 3AM comes and our wee ones are wanting IN. Good thing for that extra room in our Mammoth 0. I hardly noticed an extra person (sometimes 2) in there with me and my husband. Fast forward a few years….they all sleep in their own sleeping bag now, so lucky day, even more room. I prefer the Mammoth bag rather than zipping two bags together, because you don’t get that zipper seam down the middle. Loving our double wide bag!!! Thanks TETON for family camping at its finest.

I got mine on amazon, and we love it!! You won’t find a softer thicker warmer sleeping bag anywhere else. It’s quite large and heavy almost 17lbs but that’s necessary to keep u warm. It’s very hard to get back into the compression bag so consider buying a larger one and keep the weight in mind if you plan on carrying it on your back.
Example: if you can only carry 20 lbs you have to consider eliminating a lot of other travel stuff so that you can carry this quite large bag… I slept in it already in my living room because i like it sooo much!

My wife and I love to travel and camp in our roof top tent as often as we can and thanks to YouTube we’ve gotten the bug for winter/snow camping so we bought this bag. First couple nights was around 27 without windchill and briefs was more than enough with the occasional arm out to cool down without a heater going. On our way home from first trip we stopped and the low was 9 felt like negative 6 according to weather Channel and we were warm. Bag is big enough for us 2 and our 2- 20lbs pups and long enough that we could sleep covered head to toe when it got cold and I’m 6′ tall. We leave it in tent while traveling but it’s pushing tent to limits of being able to close due to thickness but so worth it to sleep comfy without having to rely on a propane heater running. Highly recommend if you’re going extreme. We’ll be looking into the 20 for more fair weather camping

  • Nadine

Got this bag for winter camping. What big improvement. Stayed nice and warm in the 27F cold with just the sleeping bag. We were sleeping comfortably in the tent and didn’t wake up in the middle of the night feeling cold. The only downside is how big the sleeping bag is and stuffing it in the bag. But after 3 days we where able to stuff the it in the bag fairly easy. This is the link I used: Helped out alot to figue out the easiest way to stuff the bag. When we are back home, we air it out and hang it. If you want to sleep comfortably in the cold and packing space isnt an issue, then this bag is for you. Great value for the quality.

Absolutely love this product. I don’t love camping but my family does. It’s so nice to cozy up with my partner inside this sleeping bag. Game changer for me. Also AMAZING customer service. I’ll buy from Teton again.

Got the teal bag for camping in the mountains and outside on the trampoline with my babies. It’s so cozy my toddler thinks it’s a big pillow. They aren’t kidding when they say it’s mammoth. It took me about 5 mins to stuff it back into the sack I’m pretty sure I abused the bag getting it back it but it does fit I’m going to educate my self and watch some more videos to see if I can get it in a bit easier but all sleeping bags are hard to get back in the sac. Overall I am really happy and happy to support a Utah business.:) thank you TETON

We absolutely LOVE our Teton Mammoth 0 degree sleeping bag. My boyfriend knew how much I wanted it and surprised me with it last year. In October, we camped in Missouri (our home state) and while it can get chilly, the weather was around 60s-70s at night. The bag was comfortable and we loved the option to unzip it and use it, basically, as a comforter.

Two weeks ago, we took a “Babymoon” road trip from Missouri, through the lower peninsula of Michigan, through the upper peninsula, Wisconsin, and back. I was 32 weeks pregnant at the time and we camped 4/5 nights. Michigan got to mid 30s – 40s at night especiallyin the upper peninsula. While we did wear extra clothes to bed (I have to take frequent restroom trips over night) the sleeping bag was a LIFESAVER. It was so warm and comfortable. It had room for us, extra pillows, and extra clothes.

This pregnant momma gives it 20/10 stars. We can’t wait for our next camping adventure, but next time, it’ll be with our little boy.

I have owned this sleeping bag for nearly 10 years and it was SO WORTH IT. Obviously, this is for car camping and glamping only. It’s way too big and too heavy for any other use. But if you want to be cozy as you-know-what, even in cold weather, this is the warmest, snuggliest thing in the world!!! Plenty of space too. It has also held up amazingly over the years. The only downside IMO is how insanely difficult it is to get back in the stuff sack. It’s a two or even three person job. #worthit

I LOVE THIS BAG !!! I have had it for nearly 6 years and I have loved it the whole time. I have used it for car camping with my dog in cold temps and it is amazing. It obviously gets hot if it is hot out, but I believe the temp I have used it car camping has been around 20 degrees and I have been comfortable. The only downside is it is hard to was as even one of the 2 pieces does not fit in most washing machines, so you will have to visit a laundromat every so often. Mine has ripped due to this and heavy use by me and my dogs, so I will be buying another one soon!!!

No lies this bag is HUGE! Getting it into the compression sack is a 10-20 minute exercise, so be prepared. FYI, folding the bag in half, standing above it while pushing into the compression sack to the floor, while also slowly unfolding the sack was helpful in packing it.
We took it on a 6 day backcountry canoe trip circuit in central BC, Canada called the Bowron Chain in late September. Thankfully it stayed in the canoe for portages and we only needed to carry it up to the campsite each night. We looked forward to climbing into bed every night! Our travel companions wore every item of clothing to bed and were still cold. We slept in our underwear, no socks even and we were overheating some nights.
    LOVE this bag!
My only request would be to make the zippers capable of zipping the bag off into two sleeping bags going forward and definitely offering a zipper conversion kit for those of us who have already invested in this great product!

I do mostly car camping.. at some point along the journey I figured that I prefer not ‘rough’ it more then necessary.. I cherish a decent night sleep, which largely depends on being comfortable (as possible). I went from thermarests to a full sized inflatable mattress, but still used a mummy style sleeping bag, same one I would take backpacking on occasion. The one rated for -20, but where I freeze my but off if the temp drops below 50. And the one where I always felt cramped, being over 6′ and 200+lbs. The Teton Mammoth is the bees knees in camping comfort and warmth.. The thing is huge, well constructed, very roomy (I typically sleep alone in the 2 person bag, but the misses has expressed interest in taking an excursion at some point..) and the warmest bag I’ve ever used. I expect this will be the last car camping bag I’ll ever own. Thank you Teton Sports for making such an amazing product!

P.S., thank you for posting the video for getting it back in the stuff sack. I had pretty much written off the remotest possibility that I would ever get back in there.

Love love love !!! I have bad blood circulation so come winter and my feet hurt all day from the cold. I’m also a person who is cold all the time. We went camping in November and the night time temp was in the low 30. I was scared that I was going to be freezing all night. At night, I went into the sleeping bag with layers of clothes and wool socks. In the middle of the night, I woke up because I was so hot (legit thought I was dying of hypothermia lol). Took off my layers and socks and slept like a baby for the rest of the night, cozy and warm. I love this sleeping bag!!! So warm and soft and amazing.

I watched the YouTube video on how to return into the bag and it was easy but a bit tiring.

I love how big it is but the packing bag helps compress it.

I’ve taken it camping on a 3 day trip in a civic hatchback (backseats folded down) and all the stuff fit including two coolers, a portable grill, etc.

If you are even remotely thinking about it, get it! Perfect size, stays warm all night, soft, and good size when packed in the bag

My Girlfriend and I were doing research on two man sleeping bags when we came across the Teton Sports Mammoth bag. All of the reviews looked and sounded amazing but a common theme was that it is tough to get the bag back into the stuff sack. Even with knowing that we ordered the bag. I can honestly say that this bag is no harder to stuff back into its sack compared to a regular 1 man sleeping bag…. We watched the Teton instructional video while following along and it took maybe 2 minutes…. This is a must buy!

    Very stoked
