Camping trip saved by Teton customer services
I ordered a Teton 3400 backpack for a camping trip through Amazon and it arrived on a Saturday with no straps(?!?!). My trip was planned for the following Thursday, so time was a little tight. I left a message on the Teton customer service line with only minimal hope of getting the situation resolved. To my pleasant surprise I received an email on Sunday from a Sarah Knowles at Teton customer services: She asked me to take a couple of photos of the backpack and find an identity number on the inside for their QA process, then assured me that some straps were being sent at no charge to me. I received a Fed Ex tracking number later the same day. On Wednesday evening, the straps arrived. My 9 year old son and I then had an excellent two days of hiking and camping in the Black Hills of South Dakota.
The straps are easy to fit and adjust on the 3400 series pack. They are thickly padded and there are plenty of attachment points for small items or camelbak tubes. The clips seem robust and have a nice and solid “feel” to them.

The 3400 backpack managed to hold all our gear including a tent, two roll-mats, two sleeping bags, stove, food, water for me (including a camelbak bladder), and all our water-proof gear. The pack looked absolutely bonkers with so much of my gear attached using the multiple exterior straps, but it rode really well. The total pack weight was just over 50 pounds, and I had it on my back for about 10 miles of rough track that involved lots of up and down and some rock navigation. Due to fallen trees, we lost our path for about 30 mins and I had to climb over multiple obstacles before we found it again. The multiple adjustment points meant I could get the pack really snug against me during this period, then get it loose again afterwards for greater comfort.

The 3400 is the first Teton item I have purchased, but based on its performance, it will not be the last.

I used this bag on a long backpacking trip and put it through a long haul. It has an excellent amount of room for everything I wanted and more! Could definitely fit enough for a 5 day backpacking trip easily. The sleeping bag pouch fit my sleeping bag well albeit tightly, but it saved tons of room in my actual bag. I had a thread become loose on the bag during the trip so a buckle became unsecured. I was able to re-secure it while tying it up. I then reached out to Teton customer service via their website and they were OUTSTANDING! I HIGHLY recommend this product and any TETON brand object.

I chose this backpack to make the Camino de Santiago (Oviedo – Santiago – Finisterre) and it was the best decision. More than 400 km without any problem, very comfortable and durable, incredible side pockets and quality – price ratio is unbeatable, I will definitely buy other TETON products.

For the price this thing is amazing!

I have had this bag for two years and it has been on many climbing/backpacking trips. it has been to 7 different states with different climates and geography. this thing is super rugged and nothing has seemed to show wear at all. I use this one mostly as my gear bag depending on what type of trip I am doing. It comfortably fits a sleeping bag in the bottom (which btw the easy access door is awesome), loads of climbing/slacklining gear, stoves, gas, small snacks, sleeping pads, and a tent. the brain pouches are awesome for smaller things or stuff that I need to access easily. same with the side pockets. this bag does not have a lot of compartments but does have a very large center one for gear. I don’t really use the mesh holder in the front or the bungee cords much but they are good for maps or coats. this bag also has a good amount of places to clip things onto it which is nice for water and stuff. I love the included rain cover as well.

overall really nice design and price. A very rugged and well built bag can easily go on many trips and cover lots of ground

I’d love to own this rugged and well made backpack. It would provide me with many trips and I can carry everything I need. I love all my other Teton Sports products and I fell this one would be very benefical to me.

I’ve had my scout 3400 for about 5 years or more and put roughly 3000 miles on it. It has been loaded up to 50 lbs, dropped, fallen with me and basically abused. It is the most durable pack you’ll ever get for the money. It is comparable to packs that cost much more.

Bought this as a gift for 16-year old nephew who is in a group who does day-hiking activities. I didn’t get to see the backpack myself, but I was told he loved it, thought it fit well, was good quality, liked the color (Mecca Orange), and he has already used it. Would recommend!

Teton Sports Customer Service has made my “Top 5” list at No.1!!! I had taken a trip through Europe for only a few weeks and came back with a side net pocket torn, I contacted our Teton Customer Service via email asking how I can proceed for repairs and presented pictures upon request. They had sent me a new Pack?!! I contacted support asking how & where to ship back my first pack… I never heard back from support ~ THAT is what I call Customer Service!!!

This backpack is ESSENTIAL for young scouts or beginner backpackers. There is so much room and it’s really adjustable (shoulders, waist, torso, etc.). There is a pouch in the main compartment for a hydration bladder and there’s a sleeping bag compartment. The pocket on the front of the pack and the bungee cord come in really hand for jackets, snacks, or quick access items. My best friend’s son is absolutely in LOVE with his pack and was the envy of his scout camp.

I am writing this review and only focusing on Teton’s customer service AT THIS TIME. I emailed the zendesk asking if this pack had an internal frame and explained that I was considering getting one for myself and my daughter. I got a reply from Alexandra who seems very polite, professional and most of all, helpful! She informed me that this packs design was with the Scouts in mind and my daughter would probably benefit from this pack as opposed to another I was also considering.

So, with all that said, I cannot give a review on the pack as I have not purchased one yet. I will update this after I receive it and we use it a time or two. As far as the customer service goes, I give it 5 ⭐️‘s!

Ordered through Amazon a couple of months ago and have lived out of it ever since. This thing has been essential for doing different trail projects this summer and was an excellent replacement for my old Dakine Poacher. Easily packs 50lbs while staying stable.

Having done both a lot of playing with it simply hauling my 5 day kit, and a lot of work with trail tools, trash, and debris tied to it, I’d say it can handle most of what you need to do. There have been absolutely no issues with this product.

This has been by far my favorite pack to date. I’ve taken it on many hikes from Texas to Montana, and it has held up in all weather conditions. It is comfortable and very user friendly to adjust. Not to mention the space and well thought out design of every compartment. I will definitely expand my gear with Teton for any future needs I may have.
