With the Universal Camp Cot we set out to make a super strong cot that would feel as good as your bed at home and be easy to set up. So the strength is in the steel X-leg design. It has a 400 lb (181 kg) weight capacity. But there’s more:

It’s also incredibly easy to set up. The last corner pulls the canvas tight and that troublesome fourth corner is so much easier to get in place with our patented pivot arm. It’s a built-in lever that makes putting the tightest end bar into place quick and easy. Now you get the support you need, but the pivot arm does all the work for you so the fourth corner is as easy as the first.

The Universal Camp Cot is also made of 600D Oxford canvas that will last you a lifetime. Add the TETON Sports Universal Camp Pad to your purchase for a 5-star camping experience.

After years of tent camping on the ground, I finally said enough is enough, and my husband and I invested in two of these cots. Wow, it’s been a game changer. The setup is pretty painless and doesn’t require me to be a rocket scientist to set them up. They fit so nicely into our Sierra tent. But let’s be real…the sleeping experience is what really matters. I really used to DREAD going camping because I could feel every bump, rock, tree root or divot. Now that I’m off the ground, not only am I more comfortable, but I’m warmer and the cot bed is tight and supportive. Now that I have this cot setup, I can avoid the “I’m getting old” excuse and really enjoy a good ol’ family camping trip, in comfort and style.

In the past, we used an aero bed, but because my husband is heavier than I, I tended to roll toward the middle of the bed which was uncomfortable.
We just purchased the Teton Universal Cots and looking forward to using them the following weekend. However, we did a “dry run” to check on the ease of opening them and to see how they fit in our 9’x12′ tent. It was a breeze to “open” the cots and while some said the flip/lever arm was difficult, we didn’t find that a problem. I also like the height. I might add that we’re 74 years old. I was impressed with how comfortable it is, but will probably get a pad for it next year. We travel by motorcycle with a small trailer so we have to be conscious of how much we can pack. I’ll have to see how it feels sleeping on it, but at this point, I would definitely recommend it.
